Gangunjah Nevadye, born Fabian Stennett, is a Jamaican author, recording artist, and cultural historian dedicated to preserving and promoting Maroon heritage and Jamaican identity.


With a strong foundation in storytelling and cultural advocacy, his work spans literature, music, and media production. Through his books and sound, he highlights the legacy of the Maroon people, the struggles of the oppressed, and the importance of historical truth.


Operating under his stage name Gangunjah Nevadye, he continues to build a creative legacy that merges education, activism, and entertainment.

--- The Sacredness of Ciboney-Maroons’ Land The land known today as the Cockpit Country is not just a forest. It is not just limestone hills, caves, or biodiversity hotspots. For the Ciboney-Maroons, this land is sacred—a living temple, a memory keeper, a spirit being in itself. Its sacredness lies in its ancestry, spiritual energy, natural wisdom, and resistance.  1.
