🇯🇲🔥 National Address by Fabian Stennett, Chief of Furry Town Maroons
“Guardian of the Land, Voice of the People”
My people of Jamaica — hear mi now.
I do not speak as a politician. I do not come with promises written on paper, blown away by the wind of elections. I speak as the vanguard of a nation, as a son of the soil, as a descendant of the Ciboney — the first people of this land.
Yes. Before the Tainos. Before the Moors. Before Columbus came with his lies and crosses.
The Ciboney walked these rivers, climbed these mountains, fished these waters from as early as 5000 BC.
We are the original stewards of Jamaica. We did not inherit this land from our ancestors — we are borrowing it from our children.
🛡️ And so today, I rise not as a man looking for power, but as the guardian of the land and the champion of the common people.
I rise for the farmer with cracked hands and empty pockets.
For the youth with dreams bigger than the garrison he was born in.
For the grandmother in the hills, waiting three hours for water.
For every Jamaican who loves this land, but wonders when this land will finally love them back.
That time is now.
🗣️ A New Call to the Nation: Reclaim. Rebuild. Rise.
We’ve been tricked long enough.
We’ve been divided long enough.
We’ve been foreign-fed and locally-starved for too long.
🇯🇲 1. A Nation Must Control Its Own Resources
- The ports, the wharves, the airports, the utilities — these are not souvenirs for investors.
- These are the lifelines of a sovereign people.
- If the wealth of Jamaica is not in the hands of Jamaicans, then who are we really free?
We must reopen, reclaim, and repurpose these assets — not to enrich the few, but to empower the many.
🛤️ 2. Rebuild the Foundations: Roads, Healthcare, Education, Agriculture
The nation cannot rise on potholes, hungry bellies, and broken schools.
We must:
- Pave roads not just for cars — but for connection between communities and commerce.
- Invest in health systems where you don’t have to die waiting.
- Reform education so that our children learn how to live, build, farm, trade, and lead.
- Return to agriculture not just as survival, but as a source of power — feeding ourselves, fueling industry, and building pride in the land.
🏞️ 3. Empower Local Communities — Not Just Top-Down Policies
Let each community become a kingdom of potential:
- With its own farms, solar grids, workshops, schools, cooperatives.
- Led by councils elected by the people, not imposed from above.
- Powered by the strength of local ownership — not charity, not dependence.
This is the Ciboney way: live with the land, not off it. Share what you grow. Build where you are.
💥 4. National Unity Rooted in Identity
Let us stop defining ourselves by European borders, colonial names, and foreign validation.
Let us stand as:
- Africans by blood
- Ciboney by spirit
- Jamaicans by destiny
We are a mixed, mighty people, forged in fire and rebellion, resilience and rhythm. Let that identity unite us, not divide us.
🔥 5. This is a Movement of Fire — Not Fantasy
I am not here to entertain you.
I am here to wake up the warrior, the healer, the builder, and the protector in every Jamaican.
We are a nation of Nanny, Tacky, Kojo, Paul Bogle, Marcus Garvey — and long before them, the Ciboney, who lived without chains and ruled without corruption.
Let their spirit rise again.
🗣️ A Final Word to My People:
Jamaica is not poor — she is plundered.
The people are not lazy — they are left behind.
The youth are not lost — they are leaderless.
But not for much longer.
As Chief of the Furry Town Maroons, as a Ciboney descendant, and as a true servant of the people, I say this to every parish, every district, every yard:
Rise up. Organize. Reclaim. Rebuild. Rise again.
No one is coming to save us. We must save ourselves.
We must replant the fields, reopen the factories, reclaim the ports, retrain the people, and reignite the nation.
Not with hate — but with heritage.
Not with violence — but with vision.
Not with begging — but with bold, brave building.
✊🏽 Forward, with the fire of the ancestors. Backward? Never again.
I am Fabian Stennett,
Chief of Furry Town Maroons,
Descendant of the Ciboney,
Guardian of the land,
Voice of the voiceless,
Champion of the common people —
And I say, let the nation rise.
